'Silencia' should, contrary to its title, be listened to as loud as possible. This debut solo tape by Brno-based guitarist, field recordist and musician Tomáš Niesner marries ever-revolving minimalist motifs with oscillating, resonant drones.
Inspired by concepts of environmental psychology like place attachment, 'Silencia' reflects on local memory and one's attachment to particular locations. And while it does deal with the past, it avoids deteriorating into simple nostalgia.
