WatchBurst One of the best concept albums I've ever listened to. The sounds captured create an unique atmosphere, making the listener feel inside that house. I can even notice some melancholic vibes in the 4th track. Favorite track: Villa letizia (oltre la mia finestra, l'ignoto).

This is how "field recordings" should be done - with a minimalist, yet attentive and deliberate approach: rather than artificially creating an atmosphere, Carlo Giustini did exactly what so many other avant-garde artists fail to do nowadays: let the surroundings tell the story, so the listeners can temporarily immerse themselves and (hopefully) appreciate & understand the artist's vision/concept. Favorite track: L'ospite.

jckmd A beautiful and intimate album. Giustini has captured the characteristics of this old house so well; the passive recording techniques result in an untainted aural painting. Favorite track: La cantina.

'La stanza di fronte' or 'The Other Room', is Carlo Guistini's first work released under his own name. this highly conceptual release - the four tracks were recorded in four different rooms of a house built in 1966 - explores our relationship with homes, with the matter they are made of and with the scents that impregnate their walls.

Carlo Giustini recorded these 4 serene pieces by placing two microphones and two dictaphones in the corner of each room. the tones and the harmonies are translations of the vibrations of the house itself, Carlo's movements, and the noise of moving objects. the opening track even includes unexplained sounds and footsteps captured in one of the rooms while the house was empty and the mics were on.

“No need for the outside, as the walls, heavy as boulders, become the breath of a world that won’t preach any sound.

The humming of the mould and the cracks over the door jambs become companions to whom entrust your thoughts.

And there’s no need for anything else.”

I absolutely love Oblivion of Experience. Those gushing synths are so bold and captivating and as soon as that cymbal crashes it's all over. I feel as if was in a free fall, but then someone turned on a giant industrial powered fan below me which slows my descent, slowing me down to a stop just before I hit the fan. The air slowly pushes me back up till I'm lying still in equilibrium, suspended. Absolutely beautiful track and a wonderful album! (social suicide)
