Prague-based musician Wim Dehaen joins ACR with two releases presented on a single cassette tape. side A - '12 Elegies For Pierre Boulez' - is Dehaen's tribute to the celebrated French composer, while side B - 'Ústí OST' - is a single piece of frosty soundtrack material spread over the entire tape side.

the '12 Elegies For Pierre Boulez' are Boulez-inspired miniatures which are meant to function as if you were listening to a Boulez piece from the inside out. slightly dissonant and anxious, they feel like tiny snippets of a long-forgotten nightmare. "These pieces are like little imprints conveying some aspects of Boulez's work, while mostly doing away with linear progression and rhythm and instead zooming in on timbre, moods and tone clusters," shares Dehaen.

Ústí OST, composed to accompany a film by Lukáš Janičík offers a more airy, pleasant listen. where the 'Elegies' offer fleeting jarring impressions, 'Ústí' is constant and lush. "Thematically, the film [describes] a confluence of the natural and the urban, a getting into resonance of opposing forces. In this case, I chose for an ensemble of quite static, but harmonic and consonant sounds, and instead of any gradual textural evolution, the visual narrative dictates the flow of the sound resulting in some unusually steep differentials between segments."
